From "The McKenzie Harvest"
They were just inside the open door, within reach of the storm without being in it.
The wind kicked up. The thunder and lightning raced closer, closer, overhead.
Katherine could feel the wind's cold, wet breath as the darkness enveloped them. She was shivering.
She turned away from the storm, toward Bradley. She embraced him, her face against his chest. He closed his arms around her, holding her tightly.
The storm, the darkness passed them in a few minutes.
"The sun is out again," Bradley said.
He opened his arms. Katherine turned, looked at the rain-drenched fields glistening in the sunlight. She could still hear the thunder as the storm rode north on the wind.
She pulled away from Bradley.
